Introduction
AirTrace is building the future of OT process traceability. Feel free to dive deep into the documentation to understand how you, as an industrial operator, can protect your data assets via AirTrace.
AirTrace is a platform that allows implementing data traceability via continuous monitoring of your OT (operational technology) processes in a scalable fashion. This leverages your current OT organizational status by better preparing yourself when you need to face audits and inspections issued by public regulations. At the end of the day, the huge cost savings you will reach thanks to better-organized data assets can really justify the implementation of AirTrace in your industry.
Currently, it is possible to support AirTrace in two ways:
Visually: via our visual interface at https://airtrace.io (check the image below).
Programmatically: through our programmatic scheme at https://api.airtrace.io/v1/doc, which is also explained in this documentation.
Depending on the type of client you might be, you will probably select the first option or you will go to the second one. In general, in order to have your OT traceability process up and running you need to follow the next steps:
Create a project (we give two options, i.e. hierarchical or plain, more info here).
Add your selected IoT devices to the project.
Generate the interfaces for connectivity (RestFUL API, MQTT).
Start submitting IoT readings to the given interfaces.
Despite this being the general process, please note that the last steps depend specifically in several configuration parameters that give flexibility to the implementation process. We will explain them in detail in the next sections so that they can be clear enough.
The previous list of steps are followed in order to secure the information thanks to our advanced hashing and DLT (Decentralized Ledger Technology, aka Blockchain) schemes that keep data accessible, confidential, and secure (immutable). However, we also offer our service for advanced data quality scoring, i.e. we do not only guarantee data immutability, but we also provide a set of AI (artificial intelligence), anomaly-detection-based models that score incoming data according to the reliability they have with respect to the reality. In other words, all data stored in the blockchain becomes immutable, therefore, if data is corrupted/wrong, despite being inalterable, it is useless. That is when so-called ADOS, our algorithm for data quality scoring enters the game, enhancing AirTrace with a differential service that helps auditors later verify the reliability of data when already stored in the Blockchain. This increases the transparency of data and improves the reliability of your OT monitoring process by improving the core element: reliability of data and its credibility. You can check more info in later sections.

For IoT practitioners and companies
AirTrace offers a SaaS platform that covers the needs of three main target clients:
IoT System Integrators:
IoT System Integrators are professional service companies that offer solutions for deploying and managing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, both hardware and software. With AirTrace, System Integrators can support advanced traceability as a service in their IoT devices without investing in non-core technologies like AI and Blockchain. The main gain? Everything up and running, and fully automatic, in a matter of minutes.
IoT end-clients:
End-clients refer to clients having IoT networks already installed and deployed in their operations. Even if typically IoT System Integrators are the ones that can operate on the devices to integrate AirTrace's functionality, some end-clients might want to support AirTrace service themselves, only if they have access to the internals of their IoT devices, and have full control of the infrastructure.
IoT SaaS platforms:
IoT SaaS platforms are cloud solutions that offer IoT data continous monitoring. With AirTrace, these platforms can support advanced OT traceability without needing to lose focus (and money) when investing in AI and Blockchain technologies. We make both affordable and scalable for them. Thanks to AirTrace modularity, they can basically plug-and-play our services and provide their clients with our advanced traceability capabilities with all the satellite services that AirTrace provides.
